1st June 2012: Elegance in Exile. Herzog & De Meuron + Al Weiwei : Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2012

An exhibition featuring portrait drawings from colonial Australia, National Portrait gallery, Canberra. The exhibition was showcased from the 1st June- 26th August 2012.

The exhibition mainly featured and surveyed the works of of Richard Read senior, Thomas Bock, Thomas Griffiths Wainewright and Charles Rodius. Four artists who, though exiled to Australia as convicts, created many of the most significant and elegant portraits of the colonial period. Source

Herzog & De Meuron + Al Weiwei : Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2012

The pavilion was showcased from the 1st June 2012 until the 14th October 2012. Award winning design team Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei, created the Serpentine Gallery’s 12th Summer Pavilion for Kensington Gardens.

The Pavilion was presented as part of the London 2012 Festival, the culmination of the Cultural Olympiad. Source
