Aden Solway is an artist and curator working across the UK and North America. Trained as a historian, they have held curatorial positions across three continents, contributing to projects led by The Art Gallery Of Ontario (AGO), Scotiabank Contact Festival, The Whitney Museum of American Art, Princeton University, The Art Institute of Chicago and York University. Over the last decade, they have maintained residency and fellowship positions at Banff Center for Arts and Creativity (Canada), The Museum of Contemporary Art (Canada), Vtape (Canada) and Cornell University (USA). Presently, they serve as a Harding Scholar at the University of Cambridge where they study the history of time-based media.
Through the ECG Program, Solway will explore the potentials of radical museology as a practice of refusal, anarchy and aesthetic liberation. This is grounded in their ongoing research on decolonial paradigms within the cultural field.
