Alice Maude-Roxby is a curator, writer and artist. She is currently collaborating with Sophie Delpeux on the anthology, Gina Pane: actions through time (Routledge, 2025) and co-curating with Joan Giroux an exhibition for Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, 2025 that includes works by Ketty La Rocca, Gina Pane, Anna Oppermann and Susan Hiller. Earlier publications and exhibitions focused on performance and photography including Adrian George (ed.), Art, lies and videotape: exposing performance, (Tate Publications, 2003), On record: advertising, architecture and the actions of Gina Pane. With Françoise Masson, (Artwords Press, 2004), Censored Realities: Changing New York, co-authored with Stefanie Seibold (Camera Austria, 2018), “Making Connections: Pia Arke and Feminists Using Photography” in Pia Arke, John Hansard Gallery and KW, Berlin. She curated for John Hansard Gallery: Live Art on Camera (2007), Anti-Academy (2013), and Resist: be modern (again) (with Stefanie Seibold 2019). She was a research resident at Maison Suger in Paris 2024, and has held fellowships with Japan Foundation, Arts Council England, AHRC, DAAD and Leverhulme Trust. Academic roles include Departmental Director of Research in Visual Arts at Middlesex University, Head of Photography Falmouth University, and Principal Lecturer in Photography, Kingston University.
