Anthony Sirya Kalume is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of community engagement, curating, and heritage. Currently serving as the Director of the Culture Connect Project, he also chairs the Diversity Lewes community group, where he works to foster inclusion and cultural awareness. Kalume is an Associate Curator at the Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft and a panel member for the Permanent African Collection at the Royal Pavilion Trust.
He is an active member of the Museum Association and a Fellow of MuseumLab, contributing to the advancement of museum practices. Kalume is also a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Brighton, where he shares his expertise on community engagement and curating.
With a Postgraduate Certificate in Community Engagement and Enterprises and a Master’s in Curating Collections and Heritage, both from the University of Brighton, Kalume has built a strong foundation in the sector. His work specializes in the decolonization and repatriation of contested objects, particularly in relation to East African textiles.
