Becky Gee

Becky Gee (she/her) is a curator and researcher based in Hull, UK. She is currently Curator at Artlink Hull, where she directs the quarterly exhibitions programme for 87 Gallery, which mainly focuses on commissioning work by early-career artists and nurturing a healthy arts ecology in Hull. From 2019–2024 Becky was Curator of Art at York Art Gallery, where she curated major exhibition projects and was responsible for the care and development of the Fine Art collections, with a specialism in Modern and Contemporary Art. Prior to this she held curatorial positions at Laing Art Gallery, Hatton Gallery, Ferens Art Gallery and Clifton Park Museum.

Alongside her curatorial projects, Becky is also a practice-based PhD researcher at MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art), Teesside Archives and Teesside University. Her research is on the artist commission in response to public art collections, with a focus on the Middlesbrough Collection at MIMA.
