Celeste Aurora MacLeod-Brown is a curator, writer, and artist from Edinburgh, Scotland, with a practice grounded in fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration. She holds an Environmental Art Degree from Glasgow School of Art (GSA) and is the founder of Naive Set, a curatorial collective that explores alternative approaches to knowledge production and art dissemination. Her research-led practice examines paracuratorial methods and the potential of indefinite mediums, with a particular focus on event-based inquiry and reimagining access to knowledge.
Celeste has curated numerous projects, including The “Pavilion” Project at the Venice Biennale (2024) and An Active Archival in Glasgow (2023). She has held roles such as Production and Events Coordinator for Edinburgh Art Festival and Creative Associate at Hidden Door. Alongside her practical curatorial work, she is active in research and development, including previous evaluative research for the GSA on arts education assessment and current work with Tialt, developing evaluation tools for Scottish arts organisations working with young people.
Her practice critically engages with the politics of the arts sector, and centrally explores autotheoretical methods and curatorial embodiment. Celeste has been recognised with awards such as the British Council’s Venice Biennale Research Fellowship and The Skinny x Edinburgh Art Festival’s Emerging Writers Award.
