Charles Moore

Charles Moore is a director and co-owner of Grosvenor Gallery in London, which specialises predominantly in paintings and sculpture by artists from South Asia, including members of the Bombay Progressive Artists’ Group and significant modernists from Pakistan and Sri Lanka such as Syed Sadequain and Ivan Peries. The gallery also represents Rasheed Araeen, one of the most significant artists from the region.

He has written texts on several artists from South Asia, as well as conducted research into artists living and working in the UK in the mid-twentieth century, and the galleries and dealers that supported them. He is currently working on a monograph of the Pakistani artist Ahmed Parvez.

Before joining the gallery in 2012 he was a specialist at Bonhams Auctioneers in the field of Middle Eastern and South Asian modern and contemporary art.

In 2024, Charles founded the online platform Atra South Asia, a listings website for South Asian and diaspora relevant exhibitions in the UK.
