Cicely Farrer

Cicely Farrer (she/her) is curator and researcher based in the north-east of Scotland.

She is currently undertaking a SGSAH-AHRC PhD project in History of Art at University of St Andrews and The Glasgow School of Art Archives & Collections. Taking a transtemporal approach, Cicely is researching the history of art, gender and activism at the GSA through the research question How have the women of Glasgow School of Art performed acts of resistance in response to an industrial military complex of the twentieth and twenty first century?

Cicely has a background in curating and arts administration, having held positions at Hospitalfield and Cooper Gallery, DJCAD and working with artists and organisations as a freelance curator in Scotland and the UK. Her experience has primarily involved supporting artists to create new work through commission or residency and the facilitation of group working environments within artistic and curatorial learning.

She studied BA History of Art at University of Leeds and MA Curating Contemporary Art at Royal College of Art London.
