Elania Pieragostini

Elania Pieragostini is an art historian specialising in works on paper. She is currently Curatorial Assistant of Christ Church Picture Gallery, Oxford. Prior to joining Christ Church, Elania worked as Project Curator at the London Transport Museum and at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), as well as in the Print Rooms of the Royal Collection, the British Museum and the Istituto Nazionale per la Grafica (ING, Rome). She has a strong record of academic publications, most recently publishing on the earliest visual record of the grave of John Keats in The Burlington Magazine and contributing to the V&A catalogue Renaissance Watercolors: from Dürer to Van Dyck. Her research interests include 18th and 19th British works on paper, the long sixteenth century, the use and materials of watercolour, the history of collecting and the relationships between Italy and England in the 18th century.
