Ellen Lachs

Ellen Lachs is currently studying English Literature at UCL. Outside of her degree she is the managing editor for The Flea Journal, an op-ed journal comprised of arts and politics pieces. She here directs the art coordinators, and editorial team in putting together quarterly editions. Aside from this, Ellen is a part-time art handler at Bonhams auction house, assisting clients in inspecting artworks and items for sale. This role proceeded her interning at the Mall Galleries as an art technician. Ellen is also a Visitor Experience Assistant at Somerset House; she has worked at events such as Photo London, 154 Contemporary African Art Fair, and the London Design Biennale. In 2020 Ellen spent a year working for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters’ head of commissions, Annabel Elton. She here spent time interviewing and writing articles about the society’s members and cataloguing their works, as well as coordinating the society’s website and social media channels. She has also provided guided tours around the RP’s annual exhibition. Ellen has completed similar work at Green & Stone’s gallery on The Fulham Road.
