Emma Roodhouse is Art Collections & Learning Curator at Colchester and Ipswich Museums Service and freelance researcher. Co-convenor of the Landscape Research Group which was set up to make regional landscape collections more accessible through sharing ideas and events. Emma has curated exhibitions on John Constable, Rodin’s The Kiss, Hairstyles in Art, Ed Sheeran, 500 years of surgery, Explosives, East Anglian printmaking and Children’s Book Illustrators. Currently working on a research project into Constable’s early Suffolk years and the artists, patrons and supporters he associated with in the area, through a research grant from the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art. This will result in the 2021 exhibition ‘Creating Constable at Christchurch Mansion’ to mark George Frost’s bicentenary and 200 years of The Hay Wain. A passionate believer that art is for all and always on the hunt for decent cake.
