Ethan Carney (he/him) is an emerging speaker and facilitator working at Tate St Ives, and volunteering at St Ives Archive. He grew up in St Ives, and after graduating from Leeds Arts University in 2019, found himself back home working at Tate St Ives as a tour guide and learning facilitator, engaging LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse young people within these roles.
Having devised and run workshops to teach skills to diverse audiences while in Leeds, becoming a speaker became an extension of this. He has delivered talks locally around key St Ives Modernist artists, at Porthmeor Studios, and this talks practice is steadily growing, independent of his work at Tate. His interest is in breaking down barriers to conversations around art and artists, bringing talks to new audiences and engaging and inspiring audiences to think about artists in new ways.
His multidisciplinary artistic practice is also emerging, working with an interest in light and experimental analogue photography processes.
