Gemma Brace

Gemma Brace is Head of Exhibitions at Arnolfini and a freelance writer and curator, specialising in Modern British and contemporary art. Recent projects include Elias Sime: Eregata እርጋታ, Threads: ‘Breathing stories into materials’ (2023); Garry Fabian Miller: Adore (2023); Bharti Kher: The Body is a Place (2022); Donna Huanca: CUEVA DE COPAL (2022); Paula Rego: Subversive Stories (2022); Frank Bowling: Land of Many Waters (2021); Chantal Joffe: From Esme – with Love and Squalor (2020); and Franko B: The Body is Not Here (2019). She is a prior recipient of a Paul Mellon Curatorial Research Support Grant, Art Fund’s Jonathan Ruffer Curatorial Grant and an Arvon and Visual Arts South West Critical Writing for the Visual Arts Award.
