Heather Carroll

Dr Heather Carroll is Exhibitions Manager and Curator at Dovecot Tapestry Studio. Previously, she worked at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum as their Events and Exhibitions Officer where she organised an ambitious exhibition programme of artists’, national organisations’, and community exhibitions. She has also worked for National Galleries Scotland where she can still occasionally be found providing annual tours of the Bridgewater Collection.

She completed her PhD in History of Art at the University of Edinburgh. Her thesis examined the visual representations of elite women who engaged in politics during the reign of Queen Charlotte. Her research interests are British art, portraiture, and satirical prints of the long eighteenth century.
