Helen Dorey

Helen Dorey, MBE, MA (Oxon), Dip. Hist of Art, FSA, Deputy Director and Inspectress, Sir John Soane’s Museum, London.  She is a member of the Council of the SAHGB, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee of the Attingham Trust and a member of the National Trust Collections and Interpretation Advisory Group. At the Soane she is a member of the Senior Management team and head of the department responsible for the collections and their conservation and authentic display in the interiors at 13 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, preserved as they were left by the Founder in 1837. For 35 years she has done the research for and overseen the restoration of the Museum working with the Director and Julian Harrap Architects. She has published widely on the collections of furniture, stained glass, sculpture, paintings and models
