Huaiyuan (Robert) Ren is the Student and Emerging Professionals Representative of ICOM (International Council of Museums) UK and a PhD candidate in History of Art at the University of Kent. His research examines the social impact of twentieth-century contemporary art exhibitions in China and the UK. He holds an MA in Curating from the University of Kent and a BA in Business Administration from Tianjin University, China.
Ren has worked on curatorial projects across China and the UK, collaborating with institutions such as Arts Council England and various museums and galleries. His expertise spans exhibition-making, collections research, and cultural programming, with a strong interest in how British art is curated, interpreted, and received internationally.
Beyond curatorial practice, Ren is a writer with extensive publication records in both academic research and creative writing. At ICOM UK, he focuses on organizing cross-disciplinary events for emerging scholars and professionals in the museum and cultural sector, fostering international collaboration and engagement.
