Julia Nurse

Julia Nurse is a Research Development Lead within the Curatorial and Public Practice department at Wellcome Collection, which involves working with multi-disciplinary researchers using the collections in a range of activities. Julia’s particular interest area is in the Early Modern field, and she has a background in print scholarship dating back to her 7-year stint as a Museum Assistant within the prints and drawings department at the British Museum. Julia has assisted with numerous exhibitions while working at Wellcome, often platforming the print collection, and has written many collection-based articles. She contributed to the Printed Colour Project which is culminating in a book chapter on ‘Printed Colour in Medical Treatises’ in Printing Colour, to be published by the British Academy in 2024.
