Julie Brown

Julie Brown is Collections Curator at The New Art Gallery Walsall, and is responsible for developing, displaying, interpreting and promoting access to the local authority public art collections, art library and archives, as well as curating their related exhibitions and events programme. Key areas of interest for Julie are the use of Collections for wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion, and working in co-productions with different audience groups and stakeholders. Julie’s research interests include women artists, motherhood and mental health. Julie is a steering group member of Museum as Muck, West Midlands group member of the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance and Age Friendly Museums Network, a West Midlands Museum Development Equality and Diversity Champion, an Outside In artist mentor, an alumni of the Clore Leadership Programme and an Associate of the Museums Association.
