Kate Davey

Kate Davey is the Training Programme Manager at Outside In, a national charity supporting artists facing significant barriers to the art world for reasons including health, disability, social circumstance or isolation. Kate is also a fee-waived PhD student at the University of Chichester, researching the continued exclusion of ‘outsider’ or non-traditional art in the UK cultural mainstream. Kate has worked with several charities over the past 10 years, supporting artists who are excluded from the art world, and promoting the benefits of creativity for mental health and for those in the criminal justice system. At Outside In, Kate manages Step Up, the training and professional development programme which aims to equip artists with skills to take up positions of authority in the art world; skills like curating, delivering creative workshops, research, and interpretation.
