Laura O’Leary

Laura O’Leary is a curator and writer based in Birmingham. Recent projects include Turner Prize 2021, Herbert Art Gallery and Museum – Assistant Curator (2021); FORMAT International Photography Festival – Curator (2021); ‘How We Make Meaning’: Memo Akten, Mimi Ọnụọha and Tom Kemp, QUAD, Derby – Curator (2020). Laura has written for This Is Tomorrow and MAP Magazine. She studied BA (Hons) Criticism, Communication and Curation: Art & Design at Central Saint Martins, London (2010-13) and MLitt Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art) at Glasgow School of Art (2016-17). She was also a participant in Grand Union’s alternative educational programme Curatorial Curriculum (2018-19). Currently she works at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum as part of their City of Culture programme. Previously she has worked at QUAD, Derby; IKON, Birmingham; Artangel, London and Glasgow International.
