Lee Weinberg

Lee Weinberg is a researcher, curator and educator, currently working as a tutor on MA Culture Criticism and Curation at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and a lecturer at the Royal College of Art’s School of Communication. She is the editor in chief of Visual Resources Journal (Taylor & Francis) and a member of the College of Art Association (CAA). Her research looks at the intersections of art, design and technology, and suggests new ways of defining curatorial practice within interdisciplinary context, where the role of the curator is not formally defined as such. She is interested in the ways in which curatorial theory and history can adapt to contemporary discourses around digital cultures and in aspects of curating that can be recognized in non-professional frameworks. She is interested in understanding the tensions between identities when theorizing and thinking about art and artists’ work. She finds specific interest in British institutions that promote digital and other new media practices and the way in which they influence the general perception of digital and new media art globally.
