Lijie Wang

Lijie Wang is a PhD candidate in Modern and Contemporary Art at The Institute of Fine Arts, NYU. Her dissertation examines the compelling intersection of modern toy culture and neo-Pop art since the 1980s on a global scale. Prior to joining the Institute, Wang applied her research expertise to several museums and cultural institutions, including the BBC’s documentary series Art of China and the M+ Collections in Hong Kong. She also held a curatorial role for the Chinese Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennale. Wang holds a B.A. degree in Art History from the University of York and an M.A. in Gender Studies from University College London.
