Dr Loucia Manopoulou is a curatorial researcher and cultural strategist working across craft, design, and contemporary art. Currently, she is a curator at the University for the Creative Arts, responsible for the Surrey campus galleries, and a Trustee at 318 Ceramics, Farnham.
Loucia has a rich curatorial experience, having instigated projects in both the UK and Greece. She has worked in a wide range of creative and cultural environments for over 20 years, including commercial galleries, museums, and the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
She has presented her research on curatorial practices at national and international conferences. Her ongoing research investigates curatorial practice as a mode of research, focusing on contemporary British crafts, performance, and performativity.
Loucia holds a PhD in Curatorial and British Crafts (2023), an MRes (Distinction) in Crafts (2017) from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, and an MA in Design Management (1999) from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design University College
