Lydia Greenwood joined ImaginationLancaster in March 2023 on a secondment as the E3 Coordinator to support the delivery of the multi-million-pound Research England-funded Imagination E3 project. The project explores and demonstrates how cutting-edge design research can create a healthier, more prosperous and sustainable world.
Lydia recently received a First-Class Honours in her fully funded Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Business Management, which will be awarded by Lancaster University. Her dissertation focused on the sociological and environmental factors in the Western world which contribute to the systematic oppression and structural inequalities that intersections of protected groups face in modern-day practice. This examined nuanced and powerful hyper-attachments to identities while analysing the unconsciousness of holding prejudice against protected groups – aiming to encourage participation in discussions to prevent barriers that can cause persistent and unnecessary discrimination.
Lydia is starting an MRes Art & Design Course at Cardiff Metropolitan University in September 2024 to further explore this subject area and continue her multidisciplinary research, with the aim to move into a curatorial role in the future.
