Madara Vimba (she/her) is a Latvian-born, Lincoln-based artist, contemporary curator and data-driven marketer. She is currently the Marketing Manager at UK New Artists and the co-director and curator of The MashUP; an artist-led platform that amplifies the creative voices of Lincoln and Lincolnshire.
Madara’s career includes previous freelance marketing roles with various organisations and festivals across Lincolnshire such as The Lincoln Museum & Usher Gallery, Frequency Festival, and SO Festival. Her recent curatorial projects include Old Walls, New Art (2024) as part of the UK New Artists Taking Place: Derby programme, The MashUP’s inaugural High Street Happening (2023) and Visitant Queens (2023), which showcased Two Queens members’ artwork at Project Space Plus (University of Lincoln). As an artist, Madara has co-produced several multidisciplinary performances, one of which was with the Lincoln Company and took place at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2019.
She will graduate with an MA in Fine Art at the University of Lincoln in 2025. Her research interests focus on producing and curating pop-up exhibitions in unoccupied and empty commercial spaces.
