Marion Richards

Dr Marion Richards is the Art Detective Manager for Art UK. Prior to this she catalogued the pre-1900 European paintings at Manchester Art Gallery for the National Inventory Research Project and (as a volunteer) 16th–19th century marine paintings and drawings at the National Maritime Museum. Long ago she worked in editorial and marketing roles with the international NGO ActionAid. She is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and of the Courtauld Institute of Art.

Marion would like to encourage BAN members to help improve our knowledge of the art in public ownership by contributing to Art Detective. She has been working with the University of St Andrews on incorporating Art UK and Art Detective into combined studies teaching and would welcome enquiries from other universities about how to get involved.
