Otega Ajuchi (he/him) is a multidisciplinary artist and curator affiliated with Factory International, Manchester. His work explores diaspora, identity, and storytelling, drawing on his Nigerian heritage and UK experiences to create exhibitions and projects that foster cultural dialogue.
Otega’s curatorial practice spans photography, digital storytelling, and community engagement. Notable projects include Nostalgia, celebrating the Notting Hill Carnival, and Rooted in Beauty, exploring African and Caribbean hair culture through portraits, interviews, and workshops. He also brings a strategic approach to his work, leveraging his consulting experience in service design and education to enhance accessibility and audience engagement.
Currently, Otega is part of the Young Curators Programme at Factory International, contributing to major exhibitions and Manchester International Festival Biennale. He is particularly interested in how British art and curatorial practices can engage with histories of empire, migration, and memory, building platforms that celebrate underrepresented voices.
