Rebecca Anthony is an Associate Specialist in the Popular Culture Department at Bonhams. Rebecca has a particular interest in the intersection of art and popular culture and thrives in the interdisciplinary nature of her work. Rebecca takes pride in how her department challenges the notion of so-called ‘high’ and ‘low art’. Her academic interests centre on the resurgence of popular culture and its role in shaping avant-garde British art.
Rebecca has six years of experience in the Art Market, beginning her career at Christie’s in the British and European Nineteenth Century Art Department, where she gained valuable expertise in the sector.
Before entering the art market, Rebecca completed an MPhil in South Asian Studies at the University of Oxford, with a thesis exploring the interplay between British colonial art and regional court art in eighteenth century Guler. Her academic journey also includes a First-Class undergraduate degree from the Courtauld Institute of Art, where she further honed her understanding of art history and theory.
