Rebecca Partridge is an artist and curator based in London. She is currently Associate Curator for Lakeland Arts, where she is programming a year of exhibitions for the 250th anniversary of J.M.W Turner: exploring elements of landscape in contemporary practice in dialogue with historical works. She has previously curated a number of exhibitions; Reason and Emotion: Landscape and the Contemporary Sublime at Kunstverein Neuenkirchen, Germany, Scaling the Sublime: Art at the Limits of Landscape at the Djanogly Gallery, Nottingham University and Expanding Landscapes: Painting After Land art at Hestercombe House, with Dr Joy Sleeman. Her recent article, ‘Expanding Landscapes: Articulating Metamodernism in Painting After Land art’, published in the Journal of Contemporary Painting (9.2) outlines the framework of research behind her curatorial practice.
As an artist, she has exhibited internationally and is represented by La Loma Projects in Los Angeles. She graduated from the Royal Academy Schools in 2007 and has been awarded residencies at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation (USA), the Terra Foundation for American Art Summer Fellowship (Giverny), the Banff Centre (Canada), The Nordic Artists Centre (Norway) and CCA Andratx (Spain). Recent solo exhibitions include: Wildflowers, Night, La Loma Projects, Los Angeles (2024), and The Glow of Hours, Thelma Hulbert Gallery, U.K (2024).
