Róisín Kennedy (she/her) is a Lecturer in the School of Art History and Cultural Policy at University College Dublin. She is former Yeats Curator at the National Gallery of Ireland. She has co-edited several publications on Irish art and visual culture including editing Visualising the Celtic Revival: The Arts and Crafts Movement in Ireland, The Collected Writings of Nicola Gordon Bowe, (Four Courts Press, 2024) and co-editing Censoring Art. Silencing the Artwork (I.B. Tauris, 2018); Harry Clarke and Artistic Visions of the New Irish State (Irish Academic Press, 2018) and Sources in Irish Art 2. A Reader (Cork University Press, 2021). Her monograph, Art and the Nation State: Attitudes to Modern Art in Ireland, was published by Liverpool University Press in 2021. She researches the work and practice of modern Irish artists, the role of art criticism, the relationship between art and state, and the position of women as artists and patrons.
