Samantha Johnson

Samantha Johnson is Head of Collection Care for the Arts Council Collection, which is the most widely circulated national loan collection of modern and contemporary British art. She has previously worked as the Cultural Heritage Preservation Lead at the V&A, Heritage Collection Lead for the Heritage Collections at the Palace of Westminster, and Senior Collection Project Coordinator at Buckingham Palace. Prior to specialising in collection care and management she worked exclusively on exhibitions, such as such as David Hockney: 82 Portraits and 1 Still Life at the Royal Academy of Arts, Shadows of War: Roger Fenton’s Photographs of the Crimea at the Queen’s Gallery and the critically acclaimed partnership exhibition The Paper Museum: the Curious Eye of Cassiano dal Pozzo. She began her career working for the government indemnity scheme, which cemented her passion for the sharing of collections through exhibitions and loans.
