Talia Nizarane

Talia Nizarane (she/her) is a Cuban artist and researcher currently based in London. Her work is informed by cultural and historical dilemmas in her home country and explores the cultural impact of migration, the effects of the climate crisis in the Global South, and the practice of sports as self-expression in fragile political contexts.

Previous work and collaborations include Lewisham Arthouse, London, UK (2025); In Place of War, Manchester, UK and online (2024-5); PROGR Art Center, Bern, Switzerland (2024); Kyoto City University of Arts and Yamanaka Suplex, Kyoto/Osaka, Japan (2022-3); Zurich University of the Arts’ Learning from Inequality Pilot Project, Zurich, Switzerland (2020-3); and Artist Residencies Enschede, The Netherlands (2020).

Her work is part of the Bernardo Quetglas Collection in Mallorca, Spain. In 2023, she obtained a Master’s in Contemporary Art, becoming the first Cuban to graduate from the Royal College of Art.
