Tia Roach (she/her) is a postgraduate researcher in Arts, Creativity and Education at the University of Cambridge. Her work explores the intersection of Social and Emotional Learning and arts-based practices, focusing on participatory methods, co-creation, and lived experience approaches. She investigates how creativity can foster connection, empowerment, and emotional resilience, particularly for those often excluded from these conversations.
She is currently curating a research-led exhibition at the University of Cambridge, showcasing artwork co-created by young women with experiences of disengagement from education. The exhibition engages with questions of youth voice, representation, and the role of creativity in educational spaces.
Tia has experience with the Women’s Art Collection, Kettle’s Yard, the Museum of Cambridge, and the University of Cambridge Museums and is committed to inclusive engagement and community-rooted practices. She has delivered public engagement programmes and arts-based wellbeing initiatives with local organisations, including leading art workshops in care homes as part of intergenerational events.
