Violetta Liszka

Violetta Liszka (she/her) is a co-founder of NeuroSpicy Mind CIC and the founder of My-Emoticons, where she merges her artistic talents and historical insights with a deep understanding of neurodivergence to nurture creativity and awareness within the community. As both an artist and a Holocaust historian, Violetta holds dual MA degrees in Photography and Jewish History, having refined her skills at esteemed institutions such as the University of Brighton, University of Chicago and the University of Southampton. Her exploration of British art curation and passion for historical studies enrich her multidisciplinary approach, which encompasses sculptural installations, paintings, photography, video, writing, and artist’s books. Violetta’s projects, particularly her powerful work related to the Holocaust, aim to shed light on the past while fostering dialogue about inherited trauma. This concept refers to the psychological effects of traumatic experiences passed down through generations and is especially vital to address within African and Afro-descendant communities to promote healing and resilience amidst historical challenges like slavery, colonialism, and systemic racism. Through My-Emoticons, she fervently advocates for the neurodivergent, offering workshops that blend various digital and traditional art forms to explore the intersections of art, history and resilience.
