ECG 2022
The fourth Emerging Curators Group programme ran from January to September 2022.
The group met online and in person over the nine-month period, including trips to York Art Gallery (meeting ECCG 2019-20 member Becky Gee and BAN Steering Group member Reyahn King) and Manchester and Bury (HOME, Manchester Art Gallery, Bury Art Museum & Sculpture Centre). They received support on their individual research from BAN Convenor Martin Myrone, and discussed fundraising and writing funding applications with Tate and Paul Mellon Centre representatives. The Group received further support from BAN Steering Group members Tony Heaton, Pauline de Souza and Lauren Craig.
Three collaborative projects between members of the group were funded: All Islands Connect Under Water film screening event at CCA Glasgow; Spoken Worlds, examining the relationship between bilingualism, translation, communication and artistic practice; and a takeover of BAN’s newsletter, which also includes further information on the Spoken Worlds project.
