Deadline for applications: Wednesday 2 April 2025
London Gallery Weekend (LGW) unites the galleries of the capital, as they present exhibitions by major international names and emerging artists, alongside a public programme of events that includes gallery receptions, exhibition tours, performances, and artist talks.
For the fourth year, Art Fund and London Gallery Weekend are partnering to offer grants to support travel and accommodation costs for curators working at regional museums across the UK to visit London Gallery Weekend, Friday 6–Sunday 8 June 2025. Alongside Art Fund’s support, the Paul Mellon Centre has provided funding to enable international participants to attend London Gallery Weekend.
The partnership aims to create new and stronger connections between UK museums, London galleries, and the artists they support, and is part of Art Fund’s ongoing support for curators’ professional development. As well as providing funding for travel and accommodation, London Gallery Weekend will help facilitate networking opportunities so the funding recipients can make the most of the weekend.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday 2 April 2025.
Please ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria and review the full terms before submitting your application. Curators can apply for a bursary for their travel and accommodation (up to two nights maximum). To apply for a bursary, please submit your application via the online form.
Apply by visiting the page on Art Fund’s website.
What’s covered by the bursary: Accommodation (arranged by London Gallery Weekend at a Central London hotel) and travel to and from London (including public transport while in London).
What’s not included: Per diems, meals and beverages, transportation to/from train stations or airports.
The fund is designed for curators from organisations that would otherwise be unable to cover travel and accommodation costs and it’s aimed at individuals working in acquisitions, programming exhibitions and commissioning artists.
The programme is open to curators from public museums and galleries, visual arts festivals, historic houses, libraries and archives based anywhere in the UK, outside of London, that are:
