CVAN – Fair & Equitable Survey

We would like to share a survey that CVAN England (Contemporary Visual Arts Network) is currently running as part of its work to make the visual arts sector more inclusive.

As a campaigning organisation, CVAN England is committed to addressing systemic issues of inequality. To better understand the inequalities that exist in the visual arts sector, in particular, we are conducting a survey of individuals focusing on artists and arts workers from underrepresented and marginalised communities with experience in this sector.

Why now?
Anecdotal evidence suggests that the coronavirus pandemic has deepened inequalities facing underrepresented and marginalised groups. This new snapshot survey will gather data on the current picture and enable us to hear directly from artists and arts workers from underrepresented and marginalised communities about moving towards a more equitable sector.

For this survey, CVAN are focusing on individuals who identify as part of the following groups:

  • Global Ethnic Majorities
  • D/deaf, Disabled and neurodivergent people
  • LGBTQI+ groups
  • Working-class people

The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CVANfairequitable
It closes on March 11th.
