Kettle’s Yard is looking for a creative and passionate individual for the temporary role of Assistant Curator, House & Collection. The house and permanent collection are the heart of Kettle’s Yard, founded by Jim and Helen Ede. Working closely with the Senior Curator, the Assistant Curator will support the care and conservation of the house, collection and archive, preserving and enriching the collections for current and future generations.

The role of Assistant Curator has the care and management of the collections at its core, as well as supporting temporary projects, publications and exhibitions that allow Kettle’s Yard to fulfil its mission to inspire and engage audiences through art, learning and research.

The successful applicant will have experience of conservation and collections management within a museum, gallery or historic house environment. A confident communicator, with excellent writing skills, the post holder will enjoy both the day-to-day practicalities of collections care as well sharing their passion for the collections with the public, students, and researchers. Working with colleagues, the Assistant Curator will be actively engaged in supporting research into under-represented histories in the collections.

The role provides temporary cover for maternity leave with cover expected to be required until January 2026 or the return of the post holder, whichever is earliest.
