Six-Week Online Lunchtime Lecture Series exploring ‘Printmaking and Print Collecting up to 1840’
Delivered via Zoom (1pm-2pm) each Tuesday, the speakers and topics will be as follows:
3rd May 2022: A Concise History of Prints and Printmaking Techniques up to 1800 – Ad Stijnman (Printmaker and print historian)
10th May 2022: Buyers, Collectors and Connoisseurs: a European perspective – Antony Griffiths (Keeper of the Department of Prints and Drawings, British Museum, 1991-2011)
17th May 2022: Collecting in the Early Eighteenth Century: a British perspective, focusing on the Clarke and Aldrich Collections at Oxford – Tim Clayton (Author of ‘The English Print, 1688-1802’)
24th May 2022: Archbishop Richard Robinson and his Prints Collection at Armagh Robinson Library
31st May 2022: Lord Fitzwilliam and his Prints – Elenor Ling (Curator within the Department of Paintings, Drawings and Prints at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge)
7th June 2022: Print Rooms in Britain and Ireland, 1750-1840 – Professor Kate Retford (Department of History of Art, Birkbeck, University of London)
