Open Call | CREA-TEC Project

The CREA-TEC project at the University of Edinburgh invites artists to submit proposals exploring how AI technology impacts our understanding of authenticity. They’re commissioning three artworks for public exhibition in Edinburgh in August 2025, aligning with the Edinburgh Arts Festival.

About the Opportunity

CREA-TEC are looking for UK-based artists to explore authenticity through the lens of AI in cultural content, political communications, and personal experiences. Examples of questions that they’re are interested in addressing are:

  • When do audiences care if content is “authentic”?
  • What aspects shape perceptions of authenticity most?
  • How can digital content foster trust?

Why Apply?

  • Commissioned Fee: £5,000 per selected artist (inclusive of all costs).
  • Collaborative: Participate in workshops and discussions with the CREA-TEC research team and Adobe’s Content Authenticity Initiative.

Eligibility

UK-based artists at all career stages, including PGR/PGT/PhD students with right to work and not enrolled in undergraduate programs.
