Opportunity: Paul Mellon Centre Art Trade Seminar

Applications to join a group of twelve participants for the PMC Art Trade Seminar are now open. The Art Trade Seminar is a residential series of workshops and visits in London on 4-6th July to coincide with London art week. It is open to applications from emerging curators who are members of the PMC’s Doctoral Researchers Network, Early Career Researchers Network and the PMC supported British Art Network.

The series of events will teach attendees about the art trade and how it operates, how art objects are acquired for collections and displays in museums and galleries,  the relationship between the commercial art world and public funding bodies, and how curators fundraise and create opportunities for proactive acquisition campaigns.

We will provide funding to cover the cost of travel, up to three nights’ accommodation and subsistence for successful applicants. Applicants who are not in full-time employment or education at the time of the seminar may apply for pro-rata bursaries to support their participation. Additionally, access funds are available to support successful applicants with specific needs.

The deadline for applications is Friday 6 May at 5pm BST. For more information and details on how to apply, please visit https://www.paul-mellon-centre.ac.uk/whats-on/forthcoming/pmc-art-trade-seminar
