Bronze sculptures from the House Series are at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (16 March – 1 July 2012); Roche Court New Art Centre, Anthony Caro: Reliefs and Standing Sculptures, features new works cast in coloured resin (21 April – 24 June 2012); The Hepworth Wakefield is installing Woman Waking Up (1956), on loan from the Arts Council Collection, within a presentation of post-war British art (from May 2012).” (Jeremy Hunt at AAJ Press)
Prize for representational painting
“the annual Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize for Representational Painting has been announced. Sponsored by the Painter-Stainers company and the Lynn Foundation (amongst other organisations with a strong history of supporting fine art), the prize rewards outstanding skill in draughtsmanship and representational painting … The prize is now in its seventh year. The selectors for 2012 include Andrew Wilton (Visiting Research Fellow at Tate Britain) and artists Chris Orr and William Packer. Receiving over a thousand entries, the judges were tasked with whittling the works down to the 98 which will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries from 28 March – 5 April.” (The New Statesman, 26 March 2012)
