“Sandycombe Lodge is a little known piece of history tucked away in Twickenham. It was built by the painter J.M.W. Turner to be his country home … The Turner’s House Trust has now launched an appeal for £2 million to restore Sandycombe Lodge and return it to its original appearance, and hopes for £1 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund.” (Simon Tait in The Times, 22 December 2012)
