Jessica Juckes has held the position of British Art Network Coordinator since May 2019. Her role is based in Tate’s National Partnerships department, and she is responsible for project management of BAN, with particular focus on developing inclusion and equity. Prior to this, Jessica worked in the team of the British Museum’s International Training Programme, a global skills-sharing network for museum professionals. From 2014 to 2017, she was Gallery Manager at the commercial gallery Tiwani Contemporary, which represents and exhibits artists from Africa and its diaspora. Other previous experience includes Barbican Centre, October Gallery, National Trust property 575 Wandsworth Road, and Cultural Cooperation (now Culture&). Jessica has a Masters in Art History from SOAS focusing on visual and material culture on the African continent. Her research focused particularly on photography, the urban environment and the legacy of colonial urban planning and architecture. Additionally, she is a qualified teacher with experience working in secondary and informal learning contexts in the UK, France, Spain, South Korea and Senegal.
