The next event from the New Dialogues research group will be an artist focussed exploration of how art practices evolve through periods of wellness and mental health challenges.
In setting up this research group, we acknowledged that historically, artwork produced in hospital settings has been seen or presented in the following ways:
- As evidence that someone is suffering from mental health issues
- As a medical record and therefore hidden away in medical archives
- Reordered to present a narrative
We are inviting several practicing artists with lived experience to share their unique but widely applicable perspectives on this, followed by an artist focussed discussion.
BSL interpretation and captioning, option of camera off, safe space to reach out to group leaders, regular breaks. Register in advance for this meeting by following Zoom link.
