Sean Ketteringham

Dr Sean Ketteringham is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford and the National Trust. He completed an AHRC-funded Collaborative Doctoral Award at Oxford in 2022 which studied the relationship between English nationalism, imperial decline and domestic art, architecture, and literature between 1914 and 1948. In 2022 he was a visiting scholar at the Harry Ransom Centre in Austin, Texas under the AHRC’s International Placement Scheme. In 2022-23, he is conducting a scoping project into the National Trust’s twentieth-century art collections with Prof Rebecca Beasley and Dr John Chu, funded by the John Fell and OUP Research Fund.

He has worked extensively in heritage, freelance consultancy, and on research residencies including at Twentieth Century Society, Henry Moore Institute, John Latham Foundation (Flat Time House), Grizedale Arts, Charles Moore Foundation, and Archio.
