Elizabeth Tomos

Elizabeth Tomos is a Fine Art academic at Falmouth University, as well as the curator for Trans-states, which is dedicated to the scholarship of contemporary occulture and esotericism. Alongside her academic career, Tomos has maintained an interdisciplinary artistic practice informed by drawing, printmaking, and performance. Elizabeth has a background in both the visual and performing arts which she draws on to underpin her Perform//Print practice. Perform//Print is a hybrid method of making art that draws on the techniques, methods, and processes of printmaking, live art, and performance practices. Her current PhD research at Edinburgh College of Art is focused on establishing Perform//Print as a practice-based methodology. Tomos started her artistic career in her home country of Wales collaborating with Ballet Cymru in Wales (2011-2012) and undertaking commissions for local artistic institutions. In 2015, Tomos began integrating printmaking into her established performance practice and her first Perform//Print edition was published in Art-In-Print and exhibited as part of the National Original Print Exhibition in London. Since then, her Perform//Print work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, such as Aesthetica Art Prize in York (2017), Sydney Contemporary in Australia (2019), MK Gallery in Milton Keynes (2020), Impact11 Printmaking Conference hosted by the Hong Kong Open Printshop (2021) and Draw to Perform Festival in Brighton (2022).
