Adam Rose

Adam Rose is a Trainee in the Exhibitions Team within Wellcome Collection, a free museum and library that encourages audiences to think and feel differently about health, life and our place in the world.

He initially studied Japanese and History at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London from 2016-2020. During this time, interned as an image and object researcher with Easy Tiger Creative for ‘Mandela: The Official Exhibiton’, which opened in Leake Street in 2018.

Since starting work on the Wellcome Graduate Scheme in 2021, Adam has worked on several projects in the Collection. He assisted with the development of Phase 2 of the Social Justice Curriculum, a course co-designed with external professionals and practitioners with lived experience to enable staff to better understand anti-racism & anti-ableism, and apply it to their work through supported learning. He has also worked on Wellcome’s most recent exhibition ‘In the Air’, which explores our relationship with the air that surrounds us, as well as two other upcoming shows.

One of Adam’s special areas of interest is exploring and presenting the narratives and histories of marginalised communities and individuals. As a queer man, his practice is especially focused on LGBTQ+ heritage and experience, but he is also interested in racially minoritised groups, and disabled and neurodivergent perspectives.
