Amy Cameron (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist, curator and exhibition producer. Originally from the Highlands of Scotland, Amy studied painting at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, and is currently based in Edinburgh.
Over the last 10 years Amy has worked in all aspects of exhibition production. Her current role is as Programme Coordinator at the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture (RSA), where she oversees the planning of the extensive exhibition and opportunities programme. This includes managing the historic Annual Exhibition, the largest and longest-running yearly presentation of contemporary art and architecture in Scotland, and the RSA New Contemporaries, showcasing some of the best graduates from Scottish art and architecture schools.
As an autistic artist and curator Amy’s interests lie in neurodiversity advocacy and accessibility within the arts. She is particularly interested in non-verbal and alternative forms of communication.
Heavily inspired by folklore and mythology, her work explores the ways we connect with the world around us and the residual imprints and traces we leave behind. Through her practice and curatorial output, Amy aims to celebrate diversity through the enduring power of storytelling and myth to bridge the gaps between different worlds and perspectives.
