Dr Gráinne Rice is Adult Programme Coordinator in the Learning and Engagement team at National Galleries of Scotland. She is Board Director for both Upland CIC and the Steven Campbell Trust. She previously worked in the Exhibitions Departments at Glasgow School of Art, the V&A, South Kensington, and Dovecot Tapestry Studio, Edinburgh. She studied at University of Glasgow and Edinburgh Napier University and in 2020 she completed her doctorate at Edinburgh College of Art/ University of Edinburgh: On Forms & Fictions: A Critical Biography of Steven Campbell (1953-2007). She has compiled the first catalogue raisonné of his work.
Current research interests include: Scottish artist Steven Campbell, Scottish art history, Scottish design and craft practices, postmodern art and design, post-war Scottish/ European artistic exchange, Surrealist legacies, Serbo-Scottish designer Bernat Klein, collecting, kitsch, and retro.
